Athletes compete in 2nd annual Paralympic Experience

Athletes from across the Grand Strand came together in North Myrtle Beach for the 2nd annual Paralympic Experience.

Athletes of all ages and ability levels were introduced to paralympic sports for the event at J Bryan Floyd Community Center.

They kicked off the activities by target shooting with air guns. Other sports throughout the day included wheelchair basketball and field activities.

The man who started it all along the Grand Strand says he's seen wheelchair sports grow over the past 19-years. "I've probably started most of it, if not all of wheelchair sports activities in the Carolinas," said Homer Cole.

Coastal Carolina Adaptive Sports and Recreation as well as the United States Olympic Committee hosted the event.
