Assault suspect beats man with prosthetic leg

Joel Parrish

Sunday, Myrtle Beach police responded to an assault call on Yaupon Drive in Myrtle Beach after a man was assaulted with his own prosthetic leg, according to a police report.

The victim said he was riding his moped northbound on Yaupon Drive when the suspect, Joe Parrish, 35, of Myrtle Beach, pushed him off.

Once the victim hit the ground, his prosthetic leg fell off and Parrish began to kick, punch, and assault him with the prosthetic leg, the report added.

Police say there was another person holding down the victim while Parrish was assaulting him.

The victim was transported to the hospital for a laceration over his right eye.

Parrish was later charged with Assault and Battery, Second Degree and is being held without bond in the Myrtle Beach Jail.
