Arrest made in connection with double homicide

One arrest has been made in connection with a double homicide that took place in Loris over the weekend.

Sandy Lee Locklear, 40, of Tabor City, NC is charged with two counts of Murder, Burglary 1st Degree, and Filing a False Police Report.

Around 4:30 Sunday morning, Horry County police officers responded to a home on Red Bluff Road in the Loris area in reference to a reported home invasion.

When officers arrived, they found two men that had died from apparent gunshot wounds.

Detectives worked throughout the day following leads and identifying potential suspects.

The case is still under investigation.

Locklear is currently in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
