A thousand people attend the 8th Annual Breast Cancer walk

Murrells Inlet saw a lot of pink Saturday morning as hundreds attended a breast cancer walk.

October is breast cancer awareness month.

The 8th annual walk goes until noon at the Waccamaw Medical Park Imaging center on Highway 17.

It costs $30 and participants also get a T-shirt.

Pink cupcakes are being sold along with other pink goods.

Last year, former cancer survivors attended the walk while others who had loved ones affected by the disease also walked.

Organizers say the walk is a chance for people to share stories, celebrate winning the fight, and honor those who lost the battle.
