9/11 events being held on the Grand Strand, Pee Dee

Below is a list of 9/11 events that have come in to the WPDE NewsChannel 15 Newsroom:


September 11th Memorial Dedication: 7:00 p.m. at Unity Memorial, 29th Avenue North

Coastal Carolina Shields host memorial ceremony: 11 a.m. Sands Ocean Dunes Resort Hall of Heroes, 201 75th Avenue North

Rolling Thunder Chapter 3: 8:45 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. Rolling Thunder and other patriotic groups will be displaying American flags over Myrtle Beach bridges, including Harrelson Boulevard over 17 bypass, Sea Mountain Highway Bridge

Myrtle Beach Prayer meetings: 7:00 a.m., Noon and 7:00 p.m. at the Nance Plaza off Kings Highway at 9th Avenue North. Call 843-796-0397 for inquiries.


Hilcrest Cemetary and Goldfinch Funeral Home hosts 19th annual FTD Good Neighbor Day: Daisy Fair Flowers will give away 25,000 roses in bunches for free to people who visit the stores at either 1400 4th Avenue or 1100 Highway 544



9/11 Memorial Service:

Main Street at 7:00 p.m. There will be a 21-gun salute and 2, 974 glow sticks will be given out

Coastal Carolina Shields Memorial Ceremony: 11 a.m. at the Sands Ocean Dunes Resort Hall of Heroes


Local Hero's Benefit at Dead Dog Saloon: Doors op

en at 1 p.m., Free food and live music, Live auctions, silent auctions and 50/50 drawings. All proceeds to benefit local police and fire departments. There will be a presentation of USA colors at Dead Dog at 1 p.m. Get more info here.


Coker College hosting 9/11 Service and Rememberance Day:

At least 200 students will collectively volunteer at various sites in Darlington County, participating in service projects for some communities. Get more information ont he service projects by calling 843-383-8039.

Hartsville Fire Department Flagpole Dedication: 10 a.m. at 111 S. 7th Street


Darlington Raceway annual Blood Drive: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
