911 call released from Myrtle Beach bank robbery hoax

Myrtle Beach police released the 911 call that came into dispatchers Wednesday for what appeared to be a shooting inside of Sun Trust Mortgage on 48th Avenue North. The call turned out to be a hoax.

The two individuals speaking are both dispatchers and one is reading the information from the internet call.

The report was that five individuals with long-armed rifles were inside the bank and shots had been fired.

Police surrounded the bank and eventually entered the building. They determined no one inside was hurt or injured.

A similar call came into police in Knoxville, TN around 1:05 p.m. that four robbers with shotguns were at the Suntrust Bank there, according to our affiliate WATE.
