The Pee Dee Regional Council of Governments tells NewsChannel 15 a Massachusetts-based company is considering locating in Florence County.
The company is called Agero and according to their website, it provides a variety of services, including road assistance and claims management services, to more than 75 million drivers each year.
Florence County economic development officials tell NewsChannel 15 Agero is gaging the area's workforce. They say the company wants to see if Florence County and the Pee Dee have the labor pool to fill 550 jobs.
Economic officials say the company has not committed to coming to Florence County, but they feel pretty good about the company's interest.
On January 9th and 10th, Agero will hold a job fair at the SiMT building on the campus of Florence-Darlington Technical College It will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.
The Pee Dee Regional Council of Governments says interested applicants need to bring their resumes and prepare for a 15 minute interview with Agero officials.
Employees at each of the One Stop Centers in the Pee Dee are helping people prepare their resumes for the job fair. They're providing one-on-one assistance to make sure the resumes are up to par with what the company is looking for in applicants.
In addition to the One Stop Centers, workforce employees are helping people with resumes at the Lake City Public Library, Poynor Adult Education Center in Florence, Doctors Bruce and Lee Foundation Library in Florence, and the CD Joyner Auditorium in Marion.
