48 hours later, woman dies of drowning injuries

Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard, says Glenda Marlowe, 45 of Myrtle Beach, died at 12:55 a.m. Monday at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center from injuries suffered due to drowning.

Horry County police say Marlowe was trying to swim across a retention pond at the intersection of Canal Street and Osceola when she went under around 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Authorities say Marlowe had been on life support throughout the weekend before finally succumbing to her injuries early Monday morning.
