A four-year-old boy was airlifted to a Florence hospital after he was hit by a van on Rosewood Drive in Marion Wednesday afternoon, according to Marion Police Chief Jim Gray.
Gray said the child was riding a motorized scooter outside his family's apartment when he rode out into the road and was struck by a van.
The boy was airlifted to the hospital as a precaution, Gray said. His injuries aren't thought to be life threatening.
Gray said the driver didn't contribute to the accident and will not be charged.
