Hundreds of people came out to the annual Veterans Day ceremony at the Florence Veterans Park where 36 names were added to the park's Wall of Honor.
This year's group included the names of the three Timmonsville National Guardsmen killed in Afghanistan, the names of six brothers from Florence who served in World War II, and several family connections such as husband and wife or fathers and sons.
Adjutant General of South Carolina, MG Robert E. Livingston, served as the keynote speaker.
US Senator Lindsey Graham also took part in the ceremony. He encouraged the crowds to always honor our veterans.
"Washington is incredibly broken. It helps and inspires me to get out of town and meet with our veterans , particularly our World War II Veterans who defeated some of the most evil forces in the history of mankind. Today is a day to say thank you. The American veteran has done more for this country than any other group that I can think of," said Graham.
The City of Florence helped to sponsor the ceremony.
