$282 million in bonuses paid to VA employees in the last 5 years

In the last five years about $136 billion went to pay for the salaries of employees at the Department of Veterans Affairs and another $282 million went just to bonuses for those employees.

Jeff Miller, the Chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, said he was disturbed to find this out.

"You shouldn't get a bonus for doing your job and that's what apparently VA does," he said.

Adam Andrzejewski, the founder of, said that in Memphis the VA got rid of the aqua therapy pool due to a lack of funding.

"But of course in the last three years $1 million worth of bonuses were paid out to employees," he said.
