There is only one $1 million lottery winner in South Carolina from Tuesday night's Mega Millions lottery drawing, and that ticket was sold in North Myrtle Beach, according to South Carolina lottery officials.
The ticket was purchased at Bi-Lo located at 720 Main Street in North Myrtle Beach.
Cheri Wood, the store director, says she can't wait to see who the winner is.
" W e're v ery, very excited. We can't wait to see who it was. We're hoping it's a regular customer that comes in to buy them all the time," said Wood.
The winning ticket matched all five white ball numbers drawn. Had the Megaball number matched, the winner would have won a share of the $636 million jackpot.
Committed Bi-Lo shoppers said it could have been them if only they went with their gut feeling.
"I was here in the parking lot to get my ticket and I didn't do it," said Patricia Cartier, local shopper.
"I almost came over here yesterday but I didn't come, and this is where I always buy my tickets," said Dave Roberts, local shopper.
For an extra $1, the ticket holder could have purchased the Megaplier to see the prize multiplied to $4 million.
More than 323,000 players in South Carolina hold tickets for prizes from $1 up to $1 million.
Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
