Mayor John Rhodes to seek third term

Myrtle Beach Mayor John Rhodes will run for another term.

"I'm not going anywhere. I'm not one that's looking for a higher position somewhere else. This is my home, this is the place I love. And being the mayor of Myrtle Beach, as far as I'm concerned is the greatest political position in the state of South Carolina," Rhodes said.

Rhodes was elected in 2005, and re-elected in 2009.

The mayor's seat and three city council seats will be up for grabs in a November election in Myrtle Beach.

Keith Van Winkle has announced he will run for mayor as well.
