Horry County Council debates to air on WPDE and WWMB

On June 10th voters will head to the polls to vote in primary elections in South Carolina.

In Horry County, two races for an open council seat will be decided in a Republican primary because no Democrats are running for the seats and NewsChannel 15 will be airing debates between the candidates for those races.

Candace Howell, Daniel Cochran and Johnny Vaught are running for the District 8 seat. District 8 covers much of central Horry County including Coastal Carolina University, Myrtle Trace, Wild Wing and the Legends area.

Tyler Servant, Reese Boyd III, Chuck Ottwell and Clif Smith are running for the District 5 seat which covers much of the southeastern part of the county including areas around Surfside Beach and Garden City Beach.

The District 8 debate will air on WPDE NewsChannel 15 on Saturday, May 31, at 7 p.m.

The District 5 debate will air on WWMB CW21 on Sunday, June 1 at 7 p.m.

They will be shown again the following weekend, with District 5 airing at 7 p.m. on WPDE, and District 8 on WWMB at 7 p.m.
