Governor Haley visits Grand Strand to meet with business leaders

Gov. Nikki Haley visits with business leaders in Myrtle Beach Thursday.

South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley was in Myrtle Beach Thursday evening to meet with Grand Strand Business leaders at the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.

Haley says she was here to hear from businesses about what they need from her to succeed.

She says, "we want to make sure that these businesses are healthy and make sure the area is strong and healthy to make sure that happens."

Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce President Brad Dean says area leaders also wanted to thank her for signing a bill that will allow Myrtle Beach another 5 years to borrow money to expand the convention center.

"This will allow the city of Myrtle Beach a little bit more time to expand the convention center and more importantly it allows us to expand with an indoor sports arena which will bring more sporting events, more jobs to the Grand Strand," Dean said.
