Police: Man shot, killed while having sex with prostitute

File from scene on St Johns (WCIV)

North Charleston police have released more details into the death of a man found shot in his vehicle on St. Johns Avenue last week.

According to a NCPD report, officers responding to a call of shots fired found a dark blue Mazda van backed into a house as if it had wrecked into it.

They said the van was still running when they found the driver, identified as 34-year-old Ladontes Miller, slumped over with blood covering his shirt.

Officers said they also found a woman crouched behind the open driver’s door, fumbling with something. They said the woman, who they identify as a "known prostitute," had blood on her hands, face and dress.

According to the report she told police she met Miller earlier in the day and that while they were having sex in the van, an unknown number of suspects came up and shot Miller then drove away.

Police said she could not provide any other description and appeared to be "severely under the influence" of narcotics.

They said she told them she had just smoked crack and witnesses said they had found her in the backseat of the van using narcotics while Miller lay dead in the front seat.

They said when they tried to help her out of the vehicle, she refused, pulled the van door closed and continued her drug use.

If anyone knows anything about this or any other crime, they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.

We will update this story when more information becomes available.
