Free hot fudge cake, anyone?
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - Who doesn't like a freebie?
Shoney's wants to treat people to a free slice of hot fudge cake.
The restaurant chain declared Thursday, Dec. 7, as "National Free Hot Fudge Cake Day."
There's no catch. Organizers say no purchase is necessary.
The chain, which refers to itself as "The All-American" brand, says it offers the menu item for free annually as a way to say "Thank You, Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas."
"I made a commitment to return one of the most iconic American brands to its glory days and as a token of our appreciation for your support, I've declared a FREE Hot Fudge Cake Day every year," said Shoney's Chairman and CEO David Davoudpour. "I respectfully invite you to come in any Shoney's nationwide on Thursday, Dec. 7 for a FREE Hot Fudge Cake, a Shoney's favorite dessert for 70 years. Please join us as we honor our past and celebrate our commitment to the future."
The offering is valid at participating locations while supplies last.
