It's becoming a tradition at Myrtle Beach Speedway. The short track holds a Thursday night of local racing every Darlington week and brings in some big names to be part of the action. Clint Bowyer, driver of the #15 5-hour Energy Toyota, headlined a six driver field that included former Busch champion Randy Lajoie and current Nationwide driver Mike Wallace. The celebrity race was a six lap showdown in BMW convertibles. Bowyer let WPDE along for a few laps before the race got started, but found problems in his car and finished dead last. He's hopeful that all of his bad luck was left on the track at Myrtle Beach Speedway as he heads to Darlington Raceway for the Bojangles Southern 500.
The Emporia, Kansas native is currently 5th in Spritn Cup points. Bowyer is set to make his seventh career Cup start at Darlington Raceway. He has struggled in recent years, but won the pole in 2007 and has two top 15 finishes. His best career finish is a 9th place effort in 2007. CLICK HERE to watch Clint Bowyer talking about Darlington.
