Bennettsville Police Chief Larry McNeil says the convenience store owner shot Monday morning during a robbery has now died. We're waiting on Coroner Tim Brown to release the victim's identity.

McNeil says around 11:30 Monday morning, the owner of the Kwik Stop convenience store at the intersection of Marshall and Myrtle Streets was shot and robbed. We learned around 4:15pm Monday that he had died.

Police blocked off several streets in the area and went door to door talking to neighbors to learn who may have been involved. They're looking for between one and four people in connection with a shooting and armed robbery.

They ask that you call 843-479-3620 if you have any information about the crime.
