Two arrested after meth lab discovered in Florence County

Two people have been arrested after a meth lab was found Wednesday morning at the corner of South Botany Drive and Woodbine Avenue, according to Captain Michael Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff's Office.

Michael Hicks, 31, of Florence, was arrested and charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Resisting Arrest, Breach of Peace and Threatening the Life of a Public Official.

Shiloh Norwood, 32, of Florence, was arrested and charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine.

According to Capt. Nunn, deputies responded to the home after a complaint was called in about a possible meth lab. Capt. Nunn says when a deputy arrived, someone inside the home answered the door and "a cloud of smoke and vapor was noted in the residence."

The West Florence Fire Department and Narcotics Investigators with Florence County Sheriffs Office were called to the scene . An investigation determined that the smoke and vapor was from a meth cooking operation.
