Teen who plead guilty sentenced in CCU student's murder

The 16-year-old boy who pleaded guilty to being involved the shooting death of a Coastal Carolina University student was sentenced by a judge in family court Tuesday morning.

Prosecutors say the 16-year-old was with two other teenagers when he got in a fight with 20-year-old Corey Brooks over a parking spot.

Brooks was shot and killed in the fight.

The family court judge sentenced the 16-year-old to the Department of Juvenile Justice until his 21st birthday, which was the maximum sentence.

The two other teenagers, Keion Griffin and Demario Stukes are awaiting trial for murder.
