Horry County police continue to search for a woman wanted for a shooting in Socastee Monday night.
Police responded to 185 Village Drive around 8 p.m. after a man called 911 and told dispatchers he'd been shot by his girlfriend, according to the police report. Upon arrival, police found the victim, who appeared to have been shot twice in the stomach, lying in the road in front of his home.
The victim told police that his girlfriend, Joanne Marsh, 58, spontaneously shot him with a .357 caliber handgun following a dispute over eviction papers he had given to her.
The victim was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for emergency surgery. Officials with the GSRMC say he is in critical condition.
Marsh is about 5'7", 140 lbs, with blond wavy hair. She left the home in a teal green, 1994 Cadillac Deville, with the South Carolina license plate GJP447.
Police say Marsh is considered armed and dangerous, and she should not be approached. Anyone seeing the vehicle or Joanne Marsh is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
During a sweep of the home, police found two dead cats in the bottom of a laundry basket inside one of the home's bathrooms.
Police are still conducting the preliminary investigation. Stay with NewsChannel 15 for more details as they become available.
