The woman police are looking to identify in connection with the baby found in the dumpster Thursday afternoon.

Police are asking for help identifying a woman after a newborn girl baby was found alive in a dumpster on Fairway Village Drive in the Island Green subdivision near Socastee, according to Lt. Raul Denis with the Horry County Police Department.

Police are trying to identify the woman in the above pictures in connection with this case, according to Denis.

Denis said that around 2:30 p.m. police got a call from a woman about a baby in a dumpster.

Two brothers, one 19-years-old and one 13-years-old, found the baby while they were throwing out trash, according to their mother, Jessica Price, who called 911.

Price said they heard crying coming from the dumpster, and one of them went into the dumpster and found the baby. They then told their mother who called police.

Price said the baby was found inside a bag with other trash and had its umbilical cord wrapped around its neck. She said she helped clean up the baby.

Horry County officers and first responders came to the scene and took the 8 lb. 6 oz. baby to the hospital.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Horry County Police Department Tip Line at 843-915-TIPS (915-8477).
