Police: 8-year-old student asked to urinate in cup to help man cheat drug test

An 8-year-old student at Bennettsville Intermediate School told her assistant principal Thursday that a school employee had her urinate in a cup, according to Lt. Larry Turner with Bennettsville police. Investigators determined it was so someone could use the urine for a drug test.

The assistant principal called police to investigate.

Turner says their investigation revealed Bobby McLaurin came to the school to see Chenell Cain, a school employee. McLaurin asked Cain to urinate in a cup for him because he had a drug test, Turner said.

Instead, Turner said, Cain got a child in her classroom to do so.

We're told Cain is a "shadow" at the school, someone who escorts special needs students through their school day.

Police arrested Cain and McLaurin and charged them with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

They're expected to go before a magistrate judge Thursday evening for a bond hearing.
