      Officers cleared in shooting of a man


      A Darlington County sheriff's deputy and an officer with the State Law Enforcement Division have been cleared in a shooting that wounded a man on High Point Road in Darlington County on December 18, according to Will Rogers with the Fourth Circuit Solicitor's Office.

      The officers were trying to serve a warrant on the man in connection with a double homicide in North Carolina when they say he fired shots at them.


      They returned fire, hitting the man.


      He recovered from the shooting and remains behind bars.
