North Myrtle Beach Police looking for robber

North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety are asking for your help identifying and locating a man wanted for stealing money from a motel cash register.

On Saturday around 5 a.m., the man went into the lobby of a motel on South Highway 17 and asked the employee about room rates.

While the employee was explaining, the man jumped over the counter and prodded them into the back office, according to a police report.

The man asked where the money was and the clerk eventually unlocked the cash drawer. The man then filled his pockets with money, told the employee not to move, climbed over the counter and ran out the front door. He stole about $300 in cash.

Police have released photos the photos above from the surveillance video and say that is the man they are looking for.

The report says the man did not appear to be armed.
