Murrells Inlet shooting suspect in custody, another on the run

Thomas Gifford Byrne is charged with Murder.

Horry County police have arrested one of the two men they were looking for in connection with a murder in Murrells Inlet Tuesday night.

At 1 p.m. Thursday, Kareem Shamel Harry, 26, turned himself in to Horry County detectives at the M.L. Brown Public Safety Building in Conway. They plan to charge Harry with Murder.

Police are still looking for Saire Jerrel Castro, 22, of Myrtle Beach. He fled from police custody Tuesday night while being questioned. They say he should be considered armed and dangerous. Police believe he has shaved his head since the attached picture was taken. He is wanted on a Murder charge.

Four people were arrested the night of the shooting that claimed the life of Kevin Bowens, 35, at a home on Drayton Court. Police found them after chasing two cars that drove off from the scene.

Thomas Gifford Byrne, 19, of Myrtle Beach,is charged with Murder. His sister, Amanda Lee Byrne, 22, is charged with Accessory After the Fact of Murder. Ashley Janine Bledsoe, 18, of Garden City is charged with Murder. Sage Lee McPhail, 20, of Loris is charged with Accessory After the Fact of Murder.
