A man reported missing earlier this month in Robeson County has been found in a wooded area Tuesday night after someone called the man's girlfriend telling her where he could be found, according to Major Anthony Thompson with the Robeson County Sheriff's Office.
Larry Leonard McNeill, 46, was reported missing on March 6, 2014 by his girlfriend, and was last seen alive on March 4, leaving Barlow Road about 9:30 p.m., driving his girlfriend's blue Saturn Ion, according to Major Thompson.
On Tuesday, March 18, McNeill's girlfriend told investigators a female called her and told her that she could find her boyfriend and the vehicle in the wooded area across from the railroad tracks at the end of Knapdale Road.
A search was conducted, and the vehicle was found with the body of McNeill inside, Major Thompson stated.
McNeill appeared to have been shot.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Investigators from the Major Crimes and Homicide divisions are investigating the death.
