Man wanted for several burglaries in Surfside Beach

Surfside Beach police are searching for Billy Jack Hanna.

Surfside Beach police are searching for Billy Jack Hanna in connection with at least five burglaries in the town.

Interim Police Chief Mike Frederick says they believe Hanna is still in the Myrtle Beach area, driving a grey Lexus crossover SUV. Frederick says Hanna has been also been known to use taxi cabs for transportation on a regular basis.

Hanna shaves his head and normally has a black goatee.

If you know where police can find Hanna, call (843) 913-6368. You can remain anonymous.

Frederick said Tuesday, "We believe that Hanna is responsible for a string of serious and intrusive crimes in Surfside Beach and we need the public's help in locating him."

Frederick cautioned the public not to approach or attempt to contact Hanna, but rather to contact the Surfside Beach Police Department. "This guy knows he could receive a life sentence if convicted of these crimes," Frederick said. "That makes suspects like him potentially dangerous. Call, give us the information, and we'll go talk to him."
