Man sought by Myrtle Beach police after armed robbery

The Myrtle Beach Police Department is asking for the public's help finding a man wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a beauty store.

According to a release from the department, the armed robbery took place on Saturday at Sally Beauty Supply on North Kings Highway.

A police report says a man went into the store and asked for hair extensions from a secured display. After the clerk got the extensions and rang them up, the man lifted up his shirt to show the handle of a black pistol.

The man told her to open the register, but the clerk said she was scared to do it and froze.

The man tried to open the register himself but couldn't, so he took the hair extensions, valued at about $140, and left the store.

The man police are seeking to identify is about 6 feet tall and has a "lot of hair pushed up in a black spandex type sleep cap," the release said. The man also has a very long goatee which is being hidden in the above photos, according to the release.

The suspect may be driving a red SUV, police say.

Police also released a picture of two women also being sought in connection with the robbery.

Anyone with information on the identity or location of the people pictured above is asked to contact the Myrtle Beach Police Department Violent Crimes Division 843-918-1382.
