A Florence man was arrested Monday night after a police chase that ended in a Florence neighborhood.

Charvis Goodman, 27, of Florence, was charged with Failure to Stop for a Blue Light, Driving Under Suspension and Possession of Marijuana, according to Major Michael Nunn with the Florence County Sheriffâ??s Office.

Nunn said a Florence County Deputy tried to make a traffic stop near the intersection of Irby Street and Wilson Street at about 7:14 p.m. Monday when the man failed to stop and led the deputy on a car chase that ended on Wingate Street.

Nunn said the man then attempted to run away while his car was still moving. The car rolled into a fence.

Police caught the man after a short chase around the neighborhood.
