An Horry County woman is accused of physically abusing her six-year old daughter and covering the bruises with makeup.
Sarah Elizabeth Houle, 25, is charged with unlawful neglect of child or helpless person by legal custodian.
According to a Horry County police report, Houle's daughter was playing at a friends house when the friend mother's noticed a heavy amount of make up on the child's face. When the friend's mother asked the child why she was wearing so much makeup, she said it was because she had been hit in the face. The friend's mother also noticed bruising across the girl's face from cheekbone to cheekbone, and across the forehead.
The report says Houle told police she hit the girl three times as punishment for being rough with her 2-year old brother.
DSS has turned the six year old girl and her two-year old brother to their grandmother.
Houle is still being held on a $10,000 dollar bond.
