Hit & Run suspect extradited from GA

The woman police say snatched a woman's purse at the Myrtle Beach K-Mart last week before hitting three people with her car during the getaway has been brought back to Myrtle Beach to face charges.

Myrtle Beach Police say bond was denied Wednesday morning for Katherine Michelle Johnson, who is charged with one count of purse snatching, three counts of leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and three counts of assault and battery with intent to kill.

Bond was set at $25,000 for the purse snatching, $100,000 for each of the leaving the scene charges, and bond was denied on the assault charges.

Police say last Monday Johnson stole a purse from a 73 year old woman. Three people who tried to stop the suspect were hurt, one of them seriously.

50-year-old Brenda Williams of Conway, is still fighting for life in the hospital. She was run over in the incident. Williams' mother told us late last week that Brenda was not responding to stimuli on her lower body and may be paralyzed below the waist. Doctor's were supposed to perform surgery on Brenda's spine this week.
