High speed chase ends with crash

A high speed chase ended with a crash and two people in the hospital in Horry County Thursday night.

A South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper tried to pull over a car for a speeding violation on Fremont Road, according to Sgt. Jeff Benton with the Horry County Sheriff's Department.

The car turned on to Highway 905, then turned down Long Acres Drive.

Because the car was traveling so fast, the trooper stopped chasing it, according to Benton.

That's when the suspect car crashed into a utility pole.

Two occupants were taken to the hospital.

The investigation continues.
