FMU student charged with assault

A Francis Marion University student has been arrested for assaulting a woman on campus.

Bryant Edwards, 24, knocked out the window to the woman's apartment on campus, according to University Police.

He grabbed the woman and put her in a choke hold according to the police report, and the woman managed to pull out his nose ring, but the report say he continued to attack her.

The woman says she has no idea why Edwards would attack her.

He's charged with Burglary, Assault and Battery First Degree, Vandalism of State Property and Disturbing Schools.
