Five arrested in McDonald's robbery

The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office arrested five people in connection with a robbery at the drive-thru in Pawleys Island on August 19, three of whom were restaurant employees.

They charged the following people with armed robbery:

  • Joseph Marquis Mention, 18
  • Adrian Lamont Brooks, 22
  • Latasha Monique Duncan, 18
  • Keifer James McGrath, 19
  • Sheana Knowell Nesmith, 23

On August 19, employees at the McDonald's told police a man, who officials later identified as Adrian Lamont Brooks, had climbed through the drive-thru window armed with a pipe, took money from the restaurant, and the went back out through the window.

Georgetown County Sheriff's Office spokesman Russell Goodale says the other four people arrested were in on the plan to rob the restaurant.

He says Duncan and Nesmith were arrested and charged on September 20. McGrath, Brooks and Mention were arrested and charged on September 22.

Duncan, Nesmith and McGrath were McDonald's employees at the time of the robbery.
