Heather Johnson is a long-time friend of the family of missing 20-year-old Heather Elvis, and she was relieved to learn Friday that police had two people in custody in connection to the case.
For weeks, Johnson's played a major role in the search. As the Operations Manager at Cypress Camping Resort in Socastee, she's set up tents and encouraged people to stop by and report any information that might be helpful in the investigation.
Heather Elvis, 20, was last seen December 17th and was reported missing two days later.
She hopes Friday's developments lead to concrete answers about Heather's disappearance.
"Its a great new beginning for the case, I feel, and hopefully it'll open more doors to get more answers," Johnson said. "But we still have to bring Heather home."
Johnson says despite Friday's news, they'll be back out all weekend soliciting information.
She has a tent will be set up outside the River City Cafe in Socastee until 6:00 p.m. Sunday to take tips and hand out flyers.
