Bond denied for Marlboro County teenager

Judge Howard King denied bond for Marcus Townsend, 17, Tuesday saying he is a flight risk and a danger to the community.

Townsend, as well as Rashawn Baskins, 17, and Kadeem Ocean, 20, are charged in the death of a man at his Marshall Street store in May.

Police say the suspects conspired to rob Samer Hussein, 44. Hussein's cousin said he'd only been in town for two weeks to help run the store with his brother.

The judge ruled if Townsend isn't tried in 270 days, he will revisit the issue of bond.

Townsend is being held in the Marlboro County Detention Center.
