Parents say reassigning school's principal will devastate students

A group of parents asked Marion County School Board members Tuesday night to reconsider the decision to move Creek Bridge High School Principal Daris Gore to the alternative school.
The parents say Gore announced earlier this year she was being reassigned.
More than 400 parents have signed a petition asking the board to allow Gore to stay at Creek Bridge High School, where they say she's made a difference in the students' lives.
"She is the best thing at Creek Bridge to ever happen. She is an asset to Creek Bridge. Motivator for our students. There's different incentive programs that she does for our kids without discipline referrals," said parent Daphne L. Hughes.
School board members didn't take any immediate action on the group's request.
The parents say they will continue to lobby for Gore to remain at Creek Bridge High School.
