Homecoming for new principal named at Wilson High

Carrie Brigman named assistant principal of Williams Middle School.

Thursday night, the Florence School District One Board of Trustees approved the hiring of two school administrators.

Eric Robinson will be the new principal of Wilson High School.

He's been the principal of Hampton Elementary School in Hampton, SC since 2002.

His prior experiences include serving as the Assistant Principal at Gray-Court Owings School in Laurens, SC (2001-2002); science teacher and coach (football, basketball, and track) at North District Middle School (1998-2002), Hampton; eighth grade science teacher at Williams Middle School in Florence One, (1997-1998); and seventh grade science teacher at North District Middle School (1995-1997).

This will be a homecoming for him. He's a 1990 graduate of South Florence High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of South Carolina (USC) in August of 1995. He also holds a Master of Education in Administration from USC, which he received in May of 2001. Robinson is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education Leadership from the University of Phoenix.

He'll replace Dr. Gerard Edwards whose reassignment to the Alternative School sparked protests by a parents' group.

The board also approved Carrie Brigman as assistant principal of Williams Middle School.

She's the Mathematics Coach at North Vista Elementary School, where she has worked for the past six years. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Francis Marion University in May of 2003, and a Master of Education Degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin in December of 2006.
