      FMU tuition going up, but still one of lowest in the state


      At its quarterly meeting, the Francis Marion University Board of Trustees approved a general fund budget Thursday for the 2014-15 fiscal year of $50,643,647, according to FMU Executive Director Public Affairs Tucker Mitchell.


      Mitchell said the board approved a slight tuition increase to $9,738 per year for a full time student in 2014-15.


      Tuition last year was $9,386.


      Mitchell added FMU's tuition will remain the third lowest in South Carolina.
