FLORENCE, S.C. (WPDE) - Lashuan's Barber and Beauty Salon at 172 West Evans Street in Florence will provide free hair styles and cuts to students.
Lashuan Moses owns the salon and says with the recent job cuts at JP Morgan Chase and other companies in the area, she wanted to do something to help parents who maybe struggling with their finances.
"A lot of people losing their jobs just like our clients themselves. They lose their jobs and they can't afford to come. So at least we can do their kids hair," said Moses.
She plans to offer the free cuts and styles Sunday, August 18 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Students from K-12 and college need to bring a current school ID and a canned good.
Moses says all of the canned goods collected will benefit Harvest Hope of the Pee Dee.
