National Community Development groups meets in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - A national conference on community development is scheduled to get under way in Myrtle Beach.

The annual conference of the National Community Development Association is set to open Wednesday at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center and continues through Saturday.

The association is a national nonprofit group representing more than 500 communities working with federal housing and community development programs.

Sessions include talks on legislative initiatives and using community development block grants for business development.

In addition, Horry County is sponsoring a bus tour showing off its infrastructure and affordable housing programs developed with block grants.
