MYR's August traffic up 20%

When you compare the number of passengers arriving at Myrtle Beach International Airport August 2013 to August 2012, traffic is up 20.4 percent.

This August, 105,045 passengers arrived at MYR. That's 17,771 more than August 2012, according to airport spokesman Kirk Lovell.

So far in 2013, 602,817 passengers arrived, up 12.9 percent more than the same period last year.

"The volume of passengers arriving into Myrtle Beach International Airport during August surpassed all other years, inching out the previous record set in 2010," said Michael La Pier, Director of Airports.

"The record passenger growth is attributed to each carrier, at the airport, either increasing seat capacity, adding new nonstop air service or offering low fares," said La Pier.
