Gun found in backpack at MYR

Transportation Security Administration officers found a loaded gun in a passenger's backpack at a security checkpoint at Myrtle Beach International Airport Wednesday, according to TSA officials.

David Joyner Kelly, 59, of Murrells Inlet was arrested and charged with Carrying a Concealable Weapon into Certain Restricted Areas, according to a police report.

A picture of the 9mm gun and bullets was posted on the TSA's Twitter account.

According to an official TSA blog site , 44 firearms were discovered last week in carry-on bags across the nation. Of those, 39 of the guns were loaded.

Kelly is currently being held in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
