      Cheraw police officer hurt in car accident

      Highway Patrol has charged Phillip Andrew Reep with Simple Possession of Marijuana, Operating Uninsured Vehicle, and Failure to Yield Right of Way in a car crash that injured a Cheraw police officer Tuesday night.



      The officer was traveling on Highway 52 when troopers say Reep crashed into his patrol car.



      The officer suffered a broken nose and broken cheek bone.



      His name isn't being released at this time.



      Reep was treated and released from a hospital for his injuries.



      He's being held in the Chesterfield County Detention Center.



      The officer's patrol car was totaled in the wreck. Highway Patrol says this investigation is ongoing.
