Road construction in Carolina Forest is set to begin earlier than expected.
Horry County leaders say construction on three new turn lanes along Carolina Forest Boulevard will start next spring.
One new turn lane will be in front of the Avalon Community entrance, while the other two will be in front of the South Gate entrance and at the Carolina Forest Library and Recreation Center.
County leaders say concrete stripping should start in the spring and resurfacing construction should start next summer.
The total cost for the project is around $4 million dollars.
"We do have enough funds to complete those projects. we'll start getting parts of the design done this fall into early winter and start construction in spring," said Horry County Spokesperson Lisa Bourcier.
To reduce traffic impacts and delays, all work will be completed at night.
