Body of missing swimmer washes up on shore Monday

The body of a man who went missing in the ocean on Saturday, washed up on shore in Myrtle Beach Monday morning.

According to Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard, Lakelyon Horton, 25, was found at 1:30 a.m. near 24th Avenue North.

Sargent Phillip Cain with the Myrtle Beach Patrol Division said it received a call of a struggling swimmer in the ocean on Saturday near 26th Avenue South.

Several crews searched for Horton, mostly by air.

The Department of Natural Resources also assisted in the search for Horton from Lenoir, North Carolina.
