The Los Angeles Lakers acquired two time NBA MVP and eight time all star Steve Nash from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for four future draft picks and $3 million dollars cash. The move has a ripple effect on local NBA products Ramon Sessions and Raymond Felton who are currently unrestricted free agents.
Sessions opted out of a $4.5 million dollar player option to remain with the Lakers for one more year, but opted out of that deal with the hopes of signing a long term contract with Los Angeles. The gamble did not pay off and ESPNLA is reporting that the Lakers will no longer pursue signing Sessions. ESPN.com: Lakers add Steve Nash
