The Los Angeles Lakers acquired two time NBA MVP and eight time all star Steve Nash from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for four future draft picks and $3 million dollars cash. The move has a ripple effect on local NBA products Ramon Sessions and Raymond Felton who are currently unrestricted free agents.
Sessions opted out of a $4.5 million dollar player option to remain with the Lakers for one more year, but opted out of that deal with the hopes of signing a long term contract with Los Angeles. With Nash gone in Phoenix, the Suns are bringing in Felton for a Thursday visit. Arizona Republic: Felton to Visit Suns. This is the second team to show interest in Felton publicly since free agency began July 1st. The New York Knicks have had discussions with Felton for a second stint in NYC. Felton had his best NBA numbers playing in New York, before being dealt to Denver in the Carmelo Anthony deal.
