Amber Campbell is just four months away from the US Olympic Trials in Portland, Oregon. June 21st is the day that Campbell will compete in the hammer throw and learn if she is a United State Olympian for a second straight time. Campbell reached the 2008 Biejing Olympics, finishing in 21st place. Since 2008, Campbell has achieved international success, highlighted by a bronze medal in the Pan Am games.
Campbell is competing on Friday at the prestigious Millrose Games in New York City where she won the hammer throw title in 2010. Campbell plans to concentrate the next four months training in Myrtle Beach for the Olympics, a different strategy from 2008 when she travelled across the globe.
